THE LANG GUITAR CLUB

This overview is of the 1936 fan club founded in Springfield, Ohio. Aside from occasional mentions in local newspapers, the club gained some promotional attention from Downbeat, but little information is available about its history. Notably, the Lang Guitar Club booklet offers an excellent biography of the guitarist, especially considering that Lang’s journey had not been documented in such detail until then. While there are a few glaring errors in the biography, they are understandable as it presents a reasonably accurate account of his life. A clipping from 1989 features items from the club that were up for auction, including several exciting memorabilia pieces.
